Highest Quality Wood
Johann de Waal is a master craftsman well known for his comprehensive
range of classic pieces of solid Mahogany, Cherry Wood, Walnut
and Rosewood and Oak reproductions, as well as a series of
contemporary designs. |
|
| |
 |
Mahogany - is known
as the premium furniture wood that has a brown
to a deep reddish shade. The grain is usually
interlocked with a fairly course texture. |
| |
|
 |
Cherry Wood - this
hard wood has a fine, straight and close grain
with consistent high quality colour and width,
and is therefore favoured for furniture and cabinets |
| |
|
 |
Walnut - this sapwood
is usually narrow and pale brown in colour, the
heartwood varying in colour from rich chocolate-brown
to purplish-black. |
| |
|
 |
Rosewood - refers
to a number of richly hued timbers, often brownish
with darker veining but found in many different
colours. All rosewoods are strong and heavy, taking
an excellent polish. |
| |
|
 |
Oak - Oaks are
hardwood trees and are very popular for furniture
and case goods. |
