Johann de Waal started making furniture from his studio
just outside of Mpumalanga’s White River in South Africa
in 1989 -
and so here the first of the 3 brands – the De Waal
Furniture brand – was established.
Today, in 2008, the De Waal Furniture brand employs 50 crafts
men and women, producing fine wood furniture with mahogany,
cherry and oak being the most favoured of the beautiful woods
he uses in his heirloom creations.

subsidiary that was established in 2004 and now
